Niantic and The Pokémon Company have scheduled an event in Pokémon GO to commemorate the release of Pokémon Legends: ZA, with several Lumiose City-themed activities and bonuses. The celebration will run for several days and include raids, Timed Research, and special rewards.
During this period, coaches will find More frequent mega raids, starter encounters, and featured attacks available through Evolution or MT. Everything will be held at local times to facilitate community participation.

The event takes place Thursday, October 16 at 10:00 to Monday, October 20 at 08:00 a.m. (local time). It's a good idea to review the game before heading out to confirm any last-minute adjustments.

Mega Raids will appear more frequently, with opportunities to challenge rivals like Mega Mawile and Mega Salamence and qualify for better raid rewards. It's a great time to strengthen teams and finish off pending Mega Evolutions.

Timed Research: Rewards and Deadlines
There will be one free and branched temporary research with tasks that grant XP, Candy, Pokocho and encounters with the featured starters: Chikorita, Totodile and TepigThese encounters could come out in their shiny version.
Also, the first partner you choose will have more likely to be attracted to Daily Adventure Incense, facilitating new encounters. Important: research expires on October 20; all tasks must be completed and rewards claimed before the event ends.
Featured attacks available
When evolving during the event, the final forms of the starters will learn exclusive charged moves related to their type. They may also be taught via a charged attack TM during the celebration.
- Evolve Bayleef to get a Meganium with Ferocious Plant.
- Evolve into Croconaw to get a Feraligatr with Hydrocannon.
- Evolve into Pignite to get a Emboar with Fire Ring.
- These attacks can also be taught with Charged Attack MT during the event.
Free avatar items
The in-game store will add avatar items inspired by Luminalia City. They can be claimed free of charge during the event and will continue to be available for free past the end date.
