The Popular University of Valencia has launched enrollment for the next academic year. and is making available to the public more than 2.800 places that have become available after the lottery process, in addition to offering 325 new places in the 15 recently added self-study groups. This expansion in the offer of places seeks to facilitate access to training and strengthen the participation of adults in the sociocultural life of the different neighborhoods of Valencia.
With the opening of this new enrollment period, the Universidad Popular increases its training capacity by 21% compared to the previous year., which results in a greater diversity of options and a broader audience reach. According to Rocío Gil, Councilor for Education and president of the organization, this increase responds to the growing demand and public interest in participating in the activities offered each year.
Significant increase in places and groups for the 2025/26 academic year
For the 2025/26 academic year, the Popular University offers a total of 8.044 places, of which 7.719 correspond to long-cycle activities and 325 to the new self-learning groups. This means 1.375 more places than last year. and consolidates the Popular University as one of the main educational networks in the city.
The offer responds to the high social demand and the success achieved in previous editionsThe increase in places will benefit a greater number of people interested in activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction. The program also includes initiatives at 31 centers located both in the city center and in the northern and southern districts.
Variety of activities and self-learning groups
52 types of activities are offered, spread across areas as diverse as visual arts, performing arts, general culture, technology, languages, body expression and music.Self-study groups, on the other hand, allow participants to share knowledge and learn together cooperatively, always with the support of a facilitator and the participation of invited experts throughout the year.
The groups offered include: Walking, Contemporary History, Embroidery, Knitting, Knitting, Reading in Spanish, Reading in Valencian, Chi Kung, Conversation and Debate, Book Club, History of Valencia, Micro Theater, and Urban Garden. Affordable prices and direct registration
The rates to access the courses and workshops are very affordable.Essential activities such as general knowledge, cognitive stimulation, Spanish for foreigners, Valencian, and mobile phone use cost 25 euros for the full course. For the remaining activities, the price is 55 euros. In addition, Enrollment in self-study groups is free, a measure that encourages participation and inclusion.
Exemptions remain for vulnerable groups, such as victims of gender-based violence, and places are also reserved for people with reduced mobility or non-professional caregivers.
